You said something about having used it on different machines for the last 6 years? So that $99 seems an incredible bargain for the latest version as well as having used version 8 for that long. You don't have to actually USE the latest version (although I'd be hard pressed to understand why one wouldn't want to) because as I understand it, the key for the newest version should also unlock your version 8. The callout appears suddenly and disappears as well.
